The Pianta are the inhabitant species of Isle Delfino in Super Mario Sunshine. They have human resemblance, but they can have pink, blue, green, orange, or yellow skin. The Piantas also have small palm trees growing out of their heads. They wear grass skirts or dresses.

Trees in the Super Mario franchise are large plants that mostly represent decorative elements, and occasionally as obstacles. However, they are usually climbable and may hide items, especially in the three-dimensional games of the Super Mario series. Trees relevant to gameplay first appear in Super Mario 64.
